The charm of London echoes in the nooks and corners of the city and reflects in its lanes and by-lanes. The enchantment, the magic is manifested in the fairs and festivals that take place here all round the year. Among many places, the Royal Festival Hall in London is often a popular choice to stage an event, be it a theater, a drama or any other show.

Bringing together people from the various strata and making them clap and cheer at the common cause makes you feel more vibrant. Even if you do not belong to the city, you will not, for one moment, feel out of place…such is the effervescence of the Events in London. The Royal Festival Hall in London is located in the Southbank Centre of the city. Standing on the banks of the River Thames and not being too far from Hungerford Bridge, the area around is also a lively one. The foundation stone of this building was laid in the year 1949 by Clement Attlee, the then Prime Minister of England. The hall was formally opened on May 3, 1951.

The design of the Royal Festival Hall in London is brazenly modern. The architect to this building was Hugh Casson and was designed by young designers like Leslie Martin, Peter Moro and Robert Matthew. In the year 1964, the hall went through some renovations and some new terraces and rooms were added. The big entrance halls, commonly termed "foyers" are some of the most extensively used public spaces of the city. In the year 1960, the Eurovision Song Contest which was hosted by Katie Boyle, took place in the Royal Festival Hall in London.

After further refurbishments, the hall is now really a wonderful place of tourist attraction. There are several shops and cafés around this hall. A big bronze sculpture of Nelson Mandela adorns the pathway that leads to this hall. The London Royal Festival Hall can accommodate up to 2,900 people and remains one of the most loved venues for the various Festivals in London.
