The Red Bus in London are an integral part of London's landscape. They are not all that fast anymore and neither are they reliable. But, after the introduction of "Congestion charges", they seam to be performing better. Buses ply even at night from the Trafalgar Square.
If you need to travel frequently by bus, you would do well to buy a full day pass, which might cost you a little more than £2. The Travel Card also is a good option.
