There are two ways of hiring a minicab. One is through phone call and the other is by paying a personal visit to the nearest minicab office. Under no circumstances are the minicab drivers allowed to plead or request passengers to have them booked in the streets.
The thumb rule is to always agree on a prefixed fare before embarking on the ride. That way lot of unpleasantness can be avoided.
